Chapter19

As that Rakshasa king of undeniable charm and power , decked with excellent ornaments approached her, Sita the virtuous and beautiful daughter of King Janaka started shivering like a kela tree in wind storm. She sat on her hunches covering her breasts and crying at her misfortune . She was like the ship in the middle of a storm on high seas.

Always thinking of SriRama, Sita looked as through she was set on travel to meet Sri Rama with her desire to see Rama the best of princes as the chariot and the wishes to meet her Lord as the virtual horses. She was like a serpent held in captive . She was like the star Rohini held captive by evil plant by name "DhumaKetu". She was born in the line of King Janaka and is married into the Ikshwaku line.

In her captivity she looked like the Fame damaged by baseless allegations or the Veda knowledge which is losing its grip for the lack of reading as well as lack of being taught. Her state was like that of a fame which is on decline, determination dented by insults, like an order that was waiting to be implemented, like a fire in a rainy season,

With fasting, sorrow and thoughts , with only air as the food to sustain herself and following all customs , Sita looked emaciated and in dire condition.

Sita with with red tinge on the edges of the white of the wide eyes was looking all around for persons who may give her protection with deep distress. She was thinking of Sriram as her consort and was following all the rigors of a virtuous wife.

Then Ravana bent on self destruction entered the Ashokavan with a view to seduce her.

Thus ends Chapter19 of Sundarakanda
