Chapter 49: Summary :
Hanuman looks at Ravana and is wonder struck by his looks . He wonders that if only Ravana stuck to right path he would have been the King of the celestials too !

Chapter 49
The most powerful Hanuman wondering at the act of Ravana looked at him with eyes full of anger.
Ravana was surrounded by Durdhara, Prahastha, Mahaparsva and Nikumbha ministers who know all aspects of ministering and who are powerful. Ravana being ministered by ministers who knew all aspects of ministering looked very much like the Lord of the celestials being supported by all celestials !
Though he was being ill treated by the powerful Rakshasas Hanuman looked at Ravana with wonder. The brightness surrounding Ravana attracted Hanuman. Hanuman started reflecting within himself.
“Oh what form ! What valor ! What luster ! He has the combinations of all auspicious signs. If only he has not followed the unrighteous conduct he would have been the Lord of the celestials too!”
If he is angry he can drown the whole earth under the sea and create a deluge. Thus Hanuman thought in number of ways knowing the power of Ravana
