The Trust donated Rs 100,000 to MGH School, Guntur

Recently, Mr. Kasarabada Ramaseshu (Guntur) handed over a cheque for Rs 100,000 to the Head Master of Majeti Guraviah High School, Guntur on behalf of the Kasarabada Kamaraju Charitable Trust.

A large number of Kasarabadas passed through the MGH School, Guntur from the late 1940s. This includes children of Kasarabada Sadasivarao garu, Kasarabada Kamaraju garu, Kasarabada Gopalakrishna garu, and Kasarabada Venkateswarrao garu. The association of the Kasarabada Kamaraju Charitable Trust with the school started with the Golden Jubilee function of the school, where one of the Kasarabadas was felicitated. On that occasion, the Trust announced an annual award of Rs 1,000 to the best student. Padmashri Elchuri Vijayraghavrao, who was also present, also announced an award for best teacher through the Kasarabada Kamaraju Charitable Trust.

The Trust is instituting the awards as “ Kasarabada Gopalakrishna award for the Best Student “ and “Pandit Vijayraghavarao award for Best Teacher”. Late Shri Kasarabada Gopalakrishna, as the Hindu correspondent as well as the correspondent of Andhra Patrika, is the best-known face of Kasarabadas in Guntur. Pandit (Padmashri) Vijayraghavrao's name is known far and wide and needs no elaboration.

This donation is intended to bring permanence to the two awards with a growth in the award amounts. The MGH School will be using half of the annual interest for the awards.

Effort to make the award fund self-sustaining

The Kasarabada-MGH School endowment fund provided a capital of Rs 100,000 as a fixed deposit. The Trust encourages all Kasarabadas and their descendents to support our effort to raise the endowment to a more self-sustaining level. Our goal is to increase the capital to Rs 200,000 within a year
