Slokas 266-267 with meanings in English

Vivekachudamani Slokas 266-267
Sloka 266:
स्वं बोधमात्रं परिशुद्धतत्त्वम्
विज्ञाय संघे नृपवत् च सैन्ये।
तदात्मनैवात्मनि सर्वदा स्थितो
विलापय ब्रह्मणि दृश्य जातम् ॥266॥
1 स्वं बोधमात्रं परिशुद्धतत्त्वम् विज्ञाय-
परिशुद्धतत्त्वम् स्वं बोधमात्रं विज्ञाय-
realizing the pure reality Atman as form of
knowledge absolute;
बोधमात्रं means that which can light everything else
as the knowledge absolute; so realizing Self as the
knowledge absolute;
3 संघे नृपवत् च सैन्ये -
like the king with an army made up of various
symbols of army like emblem of the umbrella etc ;
संघे refers to both King and Self. Just as King is
surrounded by his army consisting of many things,
the Self too surrounded by the body , sensory
organs, ego etc . In that assemblage recognizing
Self as the knowledge absolute, like the king is
recognized in his army;
4 तदात्मनैव आत्मनि सर्वदा स्थितो
with that knowledge absolute, staying within Self;
With that knowledge abolute staying within Self ,
what is to be done ? the answer is 'Recognize
everything seen as form of Brahman. merge everyting
in Brahman" - This come in the last quarter of the
Sloka
5 विलापय ब्रह्मणि दृश्य जातम् -
Merge all that is seen in the Brahman.
Ultimately Guru exhorts Disciple to recognize
everything seen in this universe as a form of
Brahman. Merge everyting in that Brahman
Summary of Sloka 266 :
Just as King is surrounded by his army consisting of
many things, the recognize the knowledge absolute
Self which too is surrounded by the body , sensory
organs, ego etc. In that assemblage recognizing Self
as the knowldge absolute, like the king in his army;
with that knowledge abolute staying within Self,
recognize everything seen as a form of Brahman, and
merge everyting in Brahman
Sloka 267:
बुद्धौ गुहायां सदसद्विलक्षणम्
ब्रह्मास्ति सत्यम् परमद्वितीयम्।
तदात्मना योऽत्र वसेद्गुहायां
पुनर्न तस्यांगगुहाप्रवेशः॥267॥
बुद्धौ गुहायां सदसद्विलक्षणम्-
in that cave of Buddhi, that which is distinct from
perceivable and unperceible ;
ब्रह्म अस्ति सत्यम् परमद्वितीयम् -
Brahman is there, which is without a second, which
is the ultimate truth;
तदात्मना योऽत्र वसेद्गुहायां -
for that one who lives in that cave of Buddhi as
Brahman ,
For the who lives in that cave of Buddhi as Brahman
or Self , there is a benifit - which will be stated
in the next line.
Meditating on that Brahman staying in that cave of
Buddhi one attains liberation is what we hear in the
last line
4 पुनः न तस्य अंगगुहाप्रवेशः -
तस्य पुनः न अंगगुहाप्रवेशः -
For him there is no entry into the cave of
Body;
That means he attains moksha with no rebirth.
267व श्लोक तात्पर्यमु:
Brahman , that which is without a second, that which
is the ultimate truth , that which is distinct from
perceivable and unperceible , is there in that cave
of Buddhi. For one, meditating on that Brahman
staying in that cave of Buddhi, there is no return
to the cave of body.
That means such a one attains Moksha , he has no
renetry to the gross body again.
