Vivekachudamani Slokas 270-271:

Knowing self as  the innermost Atman

That inmost Atman is the witness of everything , Guru reminds us of that;

2 बुद्धि तत् वृत्ति साक्षिणम्-
the witness of Buddhi and all its modifications

"Knowing self , which is the the witness of Buddhi and all its modifications, as  the innermost Atman" - Guru is driving a point , the next step after knowing Self is the destruction of non-Self ; that follows in the next line.

3 सोऽहमित्येव सद्वृत्या:
with the knowledge of "I am that Brahman";

4 अनात्मन्या आत्ममतिं जहि
destroy that idea of Self in the non-self ;

With the knowledge of "I am that Brahman" destroy that idea of Self in the non-self; Guru is saying having realized Self destroy that ego centric non Self;

"जहि" reminds us of Krishna's words in Bhagavadgita-  - "जहि शतृं महाबाहो कामरूपम् दुरासदम्" - "oh Arjuna destroy that enemy in the form of desires"

The same point is conveyed by Guru in a different idiom.

Summary of Sloka 270:

Knowing self as  the innermost Atman, with the knowledge of "I am that Brahman", destroy that idea of Self in the non-self.

How do we destroy the non self; which is being mistaken as Self. That is the point of next Sloka 271.

Sloka  271

लोकानुवर्तनं त्यक्त्वा
त्यक्त्वा देहानुवर्तनम्।
शास्त्रानुवर्तनं त्यक्त्वा
स्वाध्यासापनयं कुरु॥271॥

लोकानुवर्तनं त्यक्त्वा-
relinquishing the habit of following the world;

त्यक्त्वा देहानुवर्तनम् -
relinquishing the habit of pandering to the body

शास्त्रानुवर्तनं त्यक्त्वा-
relinquishing the habit of following literal words of scriptures;

Here Scriptures referred to are the various sacrifices mentioned in vedas, driving one towards actions for fruits. The same point is stated in Gita too,  - "वेदवातरताः पार्थ, नान्यदस्तीति वादिनः",  Krishna emphatically says that those who argue that Vedic sacrifices are the way , cannot attain Moksha.

Here too Guru is saying reject the actions towards fruits.

 स्वाध्यासापनयं कुरु-
destroy the superimposition of ignorance on the Self;

Means get rid of that feeling , I am the doer.

Summary of 271 Sloka:

relinquishing the habit of following the world; relinquishing the habit of pandering to the body; relinquishing the habit of following literal words of scriptures; destroy the super-imposition of ignorance on the Self.

The obstacles on the path to Self realization are the ways of the world, pampering of body's needs, and the various sacrifices that lure you to heaven etc. These are to be rejected. That is the direction of the master.  What is required to reject these false attractions is will power. That is what we heard from Krishna in Gita. Only thing required to follow Nishkama Karma is only one thing - "व्यवसायात्मकाबुद्दि"- an intellect that is firmly committed.
