Viveka Chudamani Slokas  272-273 :

In Sloka 271 it was said relinquishing the habit of following the world; relinquishing the habit of pandering to the body; relinquishing the habit of following literal words of scriptures; one must destroy the super-imposition of ignorance on the Self.

Clearly, the obstacles for realizing the self are the habit of following the world;  the habit of pandering to the body; the habit of following literal words of scriptures leading to running after fruits. Theses are to be got rid of.

Guru elaborates on the same in slokas 272-273

श्लोकमु 272:

लोकवासनतया जन्तोः
शास्त्रवासनया पि च।
देहवासनया ज्ञानं
यथावत् नैवजायते॥272॥

1 लोकवासनतया जन्तोः -
the desire to run after the allure of the world;

लोकवासन अंटे अंदरि मॊप्पु पॊंदालि अने यातन,

2 शास्त्रवासनया पि च-
thirst to follow the scriptures leading to fruits;

3 देहवासनया -
anxiety to pamper the body;

4 यथावत् ज्ञानं नैवजायते -
the thought of true realization does not happen;

because of these three obstacles , realization or even the thought of realization does not occur.

Summary of Sloka 272 :

Because of the desire to run after the allure of the world; thirst to follow the scriptures leading to fruits; the anxiety to pamper the body;the true realization does not happen.

Here Guru makes the need or reason for relinquising these three  desires and overcoming these obstacles which were stated in Sloka 271. Only when these three are overcome one attains true realization.
