Sloka 287

through sleep or worldly indulgence;

The seeker has many ways to get diverted ,(true for all  too)  from spiritual path. Th two principal villains in this are, the sleep or being unaware and secondly being lost the ways of the world .  Guru is reminding us of these two.

because of the sensory organs hearing etc, forgetting the self or spiritual matters

Not only sleep and worldly matters, even all the issues related to sensory organs starting with sound etc- they have a way of diverting our mind from the spiritual matters to worldly matters.

Why is he reminding us of all these things sleep, worldly matters, sensory organ related issues? The goal seems to alert us not to get diverted and forget.

without giving an iota of chance ;

Guru is slowly coming to the point - do-not give these ( sleep , worldly issue etc) a chance to divert you and think of Self - without giving an iota of chance ;
.

reflect on the Self in your mind;

Summary:  without giving an iota of chance to forgetfulness (of self or the spiritual matters), through sleep or worldly indulgence; or because of the sensory organs hearing etc, reflect on the Self in your mind.

Guru says, do not give a quarter to these which push issue of Aanatma or ignorance, focus on Self in your mind,

The biggest issue of anatma is the, "dehabhimanam" or the love of the body. One way to make the body less lovable is highlight how dirty it really is in its birth state. In Bhagavatam, Kapila's discourse to his mother elaborates the same in much more detail. Using same analogy Guru gives us a reason for not falling in love with the body

Sloka 288

risen from the impurities of father and mother

the body constituting of flesh and impurities ;

setting it aside like a Chandala

Keeping aside that body , as though it is an untouchable, with the knowledge that Brahman is in you, focus your mind on the Supreme being.

be fulfilled with being Brahman

Being Brahman or becoming Brahman, means absorbing the best of Brahman, becoming the truth. Once a person reaches that state of truth, he has accomplished what he was to accomplish - that is what is meant by being fulfilled.

Summary:

Setting it aside the body, risen from the impurities of father and mother, constituting of flesh and impurities,  like a Chandala - be fulfilled with being Brahman

Be fulfilled with being Brahman implies many things. One has to merge his self with the infiniteness of the Brahman. That merging of one entity with another is better explained with an example. One such example of merging, is the case of the space constituting a Ghata and the space of the big wide world. The Ghata space or pot space is real and we see that space is enclosed within the pot. Once the pot is broken the space contained in the pot does not disappear. it merges with great space.

Guru takes up this example to elaborate on being fulfilled becoming Brahman

Sloka 289:

like the pot space in the infinite space;

When the pot is broken , the pot space does not disappear. nor does it retain the shape of the pot. The pot space merges with the infinite space.

Merge the Self into Supreme

merging the two and meditating on the same

o sage remain peaceful for ever.

Sloka summary: 'O Sage merge the self into Supreme like the pot space in the infinite space. merging the two and meditating on the same, remain peaceful for ever'.

When you merge Self into the Supreme , what is left with you is silence. If the silence is not there and you are hearing something else then the merger did not happen. That is what is meant by merging of self with Brahman.
