Viveka Chudamani Slokas 314-317 :

Sloka 314:

वासना वृद्धितः कार्यं
कार्यवृद्ध्या च वासना।
वर्थते सर्वथा पुंसः
संसारो न निवर्तते॥

वासना वृद्धितः कार्यं -
increase in Vasanas causes increase in Effects;

increase in Vasanas causes increase in Effects in terms of increased desires , and  Vasanas- effects - Vasanas forms loop

कार्यवृद्ध्या च वासना - increase in effects causes increase in Vasanas

वर्धते सर्वथा  -
always increase.


With this Vasanas- effects - Vasanas cycle - man has no way of getting out of the worldly life.

पुंसः संसारो न निवर्तते -
man's transmigration has no end;


Sloka summary 214:

Growth of Vasanas results in growth of effects. Growth of effects results in growth of Vasana. For such a person there is no way of escaping this Samsara ( wordly life)


Sloka 315

संसार बन्ध विच्छित्त्यै
तद्द्वयं प्रदहेद्यतिः।
वासना प्रेर्यते ह्यन्तः 
चिन्तया क्रियया बहिः॥315॥

संसार बन्ध विच्छित्त्यै-
To break the bond of Samsara


तद्द्वयं प्रदहेद्यतिः-
तत् द्वयं प्रदहेत् यतिः
the Yati must destry these two यवलॆनु.

Yati means one who is intent on getiing out of teh loop of Samsara. He has to destroy these two teh Vasanas and its effects.
 
वासना चिन्तया प्रेर्यते ह्यन्तः 
Vasana is impelled by though internally


 क्रियया बहिः प्रेर्यते
by action externally 

The factors leading to increase in Vasanas are two (1) in ternal thinking of sense objects (2) external actions driven by that ego


Sloka summary 215.

Vasanas are impelled internally by thoughts of sense objects, externally by actions . Hence to break the binds of Samsara , these two must be burned by Yati, the one desirous of freeing himself from Samsara.


 Sloka 316 &317  

ताभ्यां प्रवर्धमानासा सूते संशृतिमात्मनः
त्रयाणां च क्षयोपायः स्र्वावस्थासु सर्वदा।|316||
सर्वत्र सर्वतः सर्व  ब्रह्म सूत्रावलोकनं
सद्भाव वासनादार्ध्ये तत् त्रयं लयमश्नुते॥317||     

1 ताभ्यां प्रवर्धमाना सा सूते संशृतिमात्मनः -
 
ताभ्यां प्रवर्धमाना सा -
that Vasana grown by these two;

सूते संशृतिमात्मनः - आत्मनः संसृति सूते-
creates Samsara for the being;



2 त्रयाणां च क्षयोपायः सर्वावस्थासु सर्वदा।

त्रयाणां च क्षयोपायः -
means for the  destruction of these three ( Vasanas, thoughts and action)

सर्वावस्थासु सर्वदा - at all times and in all states

The means for destruction of these three ,namely Vasanas, thought and action, in all states, and at all time  is needed- Guru will tell about that tool. The point is that they have to be destroyed at all times and in all states. We already know that the ego give an chance will spring back inno time !. So they ahve be destroyed at all times .

3  सर्वत्र सर्वतः सर्व  ब्रह्म सूत्रावलोकनं:
   see everything as Brahman at all times under all conditions

 There is only one way. That is to see Brahman in everything and at all times.

4 सद्भाव वासनादार्ध्ये तत् त्रयं लय मश्नुते॥
     
सद्भाव वासनादार्ध्ये - by the strength of the Vasana of being Brahman
तत् त्रयं लयमश्नुते - destroys all the three

The strength of the Vasana of being Brahman destroys all the three. The knowledge of Brahman itself, destroys all the three.
   

Sloka summary 316 & 317:

Vasanas grown by these two ( namely thought and action) entangles one in Samsara. The means to destroy the three ,thought , action and the Vasanas,  is to see everything as Brahman at all times and under all conditions. By the strength of Vasanas of being Brahman destroys these three.
