Viveka Chudamani Slaoks  407-410:

Mind is the cause of delusion. When mind is stilled there is no possibility of projections to confuse non-Self with Self. Having stilled the mind if one fixes his mind on Self and experiences the bliss of realization of Self.  Stating, "హృది కలయతి విద్వాన్ బ్రహ్మ పూర్ణం సమాధౌ", that "the wiseman realizes that brahman in his heart through Samadhi" -  Guru praises that Brahman which needs to be focussed on in three Slokas ( 409-411).   

Sloka 407

అనన్యత్వమధిష్థానాత్ ఆరోప్యస్య నిరీక్షణమ్ ।
పణ్డితైః రజ్జుసర్పాదౌ వికల్పో భ్రాన్తి జీవనః॥

1 అనన్యత్వమధిష్థానాత్ -
not being different from the  substratum;

2 ఆరోప్యస్య  నిరీక్షణమ్ -
of the one that is superimposed is seen

3 పణ్డితైః రజ్జుసర్పాదౌ  నిరీక్షణమ్ -
by men of wisdom in the case of rope-snake 

4 వికల్పో భ్రాన్తి జీవనః-
difference is only due to delusion;
 
Sloka summary 407 :

The superimposed not being different from the substratum is seen by the wisemen as in the case of Rope and snake. The difference seen is only due to delusion.

When a "different object" is seen in an object due to delusion, then there are two things to be noted. When a different or super imposed object like snake is seen in the original substratum of Rope - the super imposed object in reality remains rope only. The object does not change though it is perceived as something else. That the superimposed is not different from substratum is seen by the wisemen. To repeat - though seen differently the super imposed is not different from the substratum.

This argument is to be seen in the light of universe and Brahman.The different forms seen in the universe are projections of the substratum Brahman. So in effect the superimposed universe is nothing but the substratum namely Brahman.

The cause of these superimpositions is wayward mind. If the mind i stilled and Brahman is fixed in it then the Brahmatva is seen . To fix Brahmatva in the mind first mind needs to be stilled.


Sloka 408

చిత్తమూలో వికల్పోఽయమ్ చిత్తాభావే న కశ్చన।
అతశ్చిత్తం సమాధేహి ప్రత్యగ్ రూపే పరాత్మని॥

1 చిత్తమూలో వికల్పః అయమ్ -
difference seen has its roots in mind

The out ward looking mind is the cause of superimpositions. If mind is stilled there is no difference

2 చిత్తాభావే న కశ్చన -
when mind is removed there is no difference;

3 అతః చిత్తం సమాధేహి - 
hence establish your mind;

4 ప్రత్యగ్ రూపే పరాత్మని -
in the innermost Supreme self;

When mind is stilled as in deep sleep there is no superimpositions. Hence stop the mind from external objects and establish your mind in the innermost Supreme Self.


Sloka summary 408 :

The difference seen has its roots in mind, when mind is removed there is no difference; Hence establish your mind in the innermost Supreme self.


To establish mind in the Supreme Self, one need s to be more aware of Supreme Self - So guru describes Supreme Self in the next three Slokas in a very elaborate way. .

Sloka 409;

కిమపి సతతబోధం  కేవలానన్దరూపమ్
నిరుపమ మతివేలమ్ నిత్యముక్తం నిరీహమ్।
నిరవధి గగనాభం నిష్కలం నిర్వికల్పం
హృది కలయతి విద్వాన్ బ్రహ్మ పూర్ణం సమాధౌ॥

1 కిమపి సతతబోధం  కేవలానన్దరూపమ్ -
as some thing unexplainable, essence of knowledge, of the nature of pure bliss;

నిరుపమ మతివేలమ్ నిత్యముక్తం నిరీహమ్ -
unparalleled, beyond all limitations, always free, free from activity;

నిరవధి గగనాభం నిష్కలం నిర్వికల్పం -
without boundaries, like the sky indivisible and absolute;

హృది కలయతి విద్వాన్ బ్రహ్మ పూర్ణం సమాధౌ-
పూర్ణం బ్రహ్మ విద్వాన్ సమాధౌ హృది కలయతి-
the wiseman realizes that brahman in his heart through Samadhi;


Sloka summary 409 :

The wiseman realizes in his heart through Samadhi that unexplainable Brahman as the essence of knowledge, of the nature of pure bliss, unparalleled, beyond all limitations, always free, free from activity, without boundaries, like the sky indivisible and absolute.   i


Sloka 410

ప్రకృతి వికృతి శూన్యం భావనాతీత భావం
సమరసమసమానం మాన సంబంధ దూరమ్।
నిగమ వచన సిద్ధం నిత్యమస్మద్ ప్రశిద్ధమ్
హృది కలయతి విద్వాన్ బ్రహ్మ పూర్ణం సమాధౌ॥

ప్రకృతి వికృతి శూన్యం భావనాతీత భావం -
devoid of concept of cause and effect, beyond all imagination;

సమరసం అసమానం మాన సంబంధ దూరమ్-
homogeneous, matchless, beyond all proofs;

నిగమ వచన సిద్ధం నిత్యం అస్మద్ ప్రశిద్ధమ్-
established by the declarations of scriptures, always imagined in us as I

హృది కలయతి విద్వాన్ బ్రహ్మ పూర్ణం సమాధౌ-
the wiseman realizes that brahman in his heart through Samadhi;


Sloka summary 410 :

The wiseman realizes in his heart through Samadhi that Brahman, devoid of concept of cause and effect, beyond all imagination, homogeneous, matchless, beyond all proofs, devoid of concept of cause and effect, beyond all imagination, in his heart through Samadhi
