.

Sloka 429

Summary of Sloka 429:
"One who is firmly established in his mental capability, one who is continuously in Bliss, one for whom the universe is only as good as forgotten ,that one is said to be Jivanmukta , one who is liberated while living."
విస్మృతప్రాయః - as though forgotten ; ప్రపంచో విస్మృతప్రాయః means appears as though the universe is forgotten ; the one who is liberated even while living acts in that manner.
Acting as though universe with its continuous distortions that happen in the world, is forgotten does not lead to the corollary that Jivanmukta is indifferent. In Gita Krishna answers this doubt by pointing out King Janaka and others who acted for the benefit of the world (లోకసంగ్రహమేవాపి). They act for the benefit of the world.
Sloka 430
లీనధీరపి జాగర్తి యోజాగ్రత్ ధర్మవర్జితః।
బోధో నిర్వాసనో యస్య స జీవన్ముక్త ఇష్యతే
1 లీనధీరపి జాగర్తి -
awake while one is merged elsewhere;
Though his mind is merged in Brahman , his mind is awake. The one who is liberated even when he is alive , has mind merged in Brahman. Yet is awake meaning alive to the world surrounding him.
2 యోజాగ్రత్ ధర్మవర్జితః - one, though awake, is free from the features of the awake state.
The features of awake state is being focussed on the non-Self; and the predominance of ego of the gross body.
The liberated one while being awake is devoid of the features of awake state. This is the special feature of Jivanmukta
the Second line of the Sloaks reaches the conclusion :
బోధో నిర్వాసనో యస్య స జీవన్ముక్త ఇష్యతే
3 బోధో నిర్వాసనో యస్య -
one whose knowledge is free of Vasanas
4 స జీవన్ముక్త ఇష్యతే -
such a one is called Jivanmukrta.
Because of the merits and demerits of past life, the Vasanas of the past life, live through us. One who realizes the one-ness of Self and Brahman and stays through that with a mind that realized the one ness, he becomes free of Vasanas. THus one whose knowledge is free of past Vasanas is said to be Jivanmukta.
Sloka Summary of Sloka 245
"He is said to be Jivanmukta who is awake though his mind is merged in Brahman. While being awake , he is free of the features of the awake state and its distortions".
