chapter 41

Pleased as she was, Sita praised Hanuman who was set leave for his efforts and dedication. Then Hanuman after moving ahead a little started to think.

" The task of searching for Sita has been completed. But there are some tasks to be completed. Setting aside the three known methods of Sama Dana and Bheda I should use the fourth method of "Danda" to complete my task. The method of persuasion(sama) does not work with Rakshasas. For these Rakshasas arrogant with wealth using method of gifts (Dana) is also of no use. These proud Rakshasa can also be not won over by trying the method of dissension(Bheda). It is best to use my strength to accomplish my task”.

Hanuman continues his thoughts

"After completing a given task , without affecting the same one may try accomplishing more. The one who performa the additional tasks is the one who is accomplished. It is better that I assess the strength of their army and our army in the battle. After assessing that then if I go then I would have accomplished the task assigned by the King Sugriva".

" Like the fire which burns down a dry forest I will destroy this garden. On hearing that this has been destroyed Ravan should be angry. Then he will send an big army of horses chariots elephants and soldiers carrying weapons. There will be a big battle."

Then Hanuman destroyed that garden filled with variety trees , creepers and birds making pleasant noises. He destroyed that garden so as to lit the ire of the Rakshasa king .Then Hanuman climbed the top of the arch of the garden awaiting the Rakshasas who were expected to be sent to fight him.
