Chapter 63

ततो मूर्ध्ना निपतितं वानरं वानरर्षभः ।
दृष्ट्वैवोद्विग्नहृदयो वाक्यमेतदुवाच ह ॥

Seeing Dadhimukha, the Vanara chief prostrating before him, that King of Vanaras spoke to him with anxiety in his heart.

उत्तिष्टोत्तिष्ठ कस्मात् त्वं पादयोः पतितो मम ।
अभयं ते प्रदास्यामि सर्वमेवाभिदीयताम् ॥

" Please get up .Why are you falling at my feat ? You have my protection . Please tell me everything "

स समाश्वासितस्तेन सुग्रीवेण महात्मना ।
उत्थाय स महाप्राज्ञो वाक्यं दधिमुखोब्रवीत् ॥
नैवर् क्षरजसा राजन् न त्वया नापि वालिना ।
वनं निसृष्टपूर्वं हि भक्षितं तच्च वानरैः ॥
न्यवारयमहं सर्वान् सहैभिर्वनचारिभिः ।
अचिंतयित्वा मां हृष्टा भक्षयंति पिबंति च॥
एवमेते हतश्शूराः त्वयि तिष्टति भर्तरि ।
कृत्स्नं मधुवनं चैव प्रकामं तैः प्रभक्ष्यते ॥"

Thus having been assured by Sugriva , the intelligent Dadhimukha stood up and spoke to him. " O King ! The Madhuvan protected by your father Ruksharaja , your self and Vali too , has been destroyed by the Vanaras who ate all fruits etc from the Madhuvan. Along with the forest guards I tried to stop them. Even then without caring a little they went on eating what ever they wanted. Though you are the king these Vanaras killed some of our guards and went about destroying Madhuvan"

एवं विज्ञाप्यमानं तं सुग्रीवं वानरर्षभम् ।
अपृच्चत् तं महप्राज्ञो लक्ष्मणः परवीरहा ॥
किमयम् वानरो राजन् वनपः प्रत्युपस्थितः।
कंचार्थमभिनिर्दिश्य दुःखितो वाक्यमब्रवीत् ॥
एवमुक्तस्तु सुग्रीवो लक्ष्मणेन महात्मना ।
लक्ष्मणं प्रत्युवाचेदं वाक्यं वाक्य विशारदः ॥

When Dhadhimukha was briefing king of Vanaras , Lakshmana the destroyer of enemies and highly intelligent asked Sugriva, " O King why is the forest chief here ? Why is he disturbed? what is he telling you about ?" Asked by Lakshmana as above Sugriva the king of Vanaras who is good at speaking replied as follows:

आर्य लक्ष्मण संप्राह वीरो दधिमुखो कपिः ।
अंगदप्रमुखैर्वीरैः भक्षितं मधु वानरैः ॥
विचित्य दक्षिणामाशां आगतैर्हरिपुंगवैः ।
नैषामकृतकृत्यनां ईदृशस्स्यादुपक्रमः ॥
पतिर्मम वनस्यायम् अस्माभिः स्थापितः स्वयम्।
दृष्टादेवी न संदेहो न चान्येन हनूमता ॥
दृष्टा सीता महबाहो सौमित्रे पश्य तत्त्वतः ।
अभिगम्य तथा सर्वे पिबंति मधु वानराः ॥

" Respected Lakshmana ! Angada and other Senior Vanaras have destroyed Madhuvan. Coming back from south they wont attempt this kind of thing unless they have completed their task. There is no doubt . They have located Sita. That surely was accomplished by none other than Hanuman !! O Lakshmana ! Sita devi has surely been located. The fact that they are drinking "Madhu" is proof enough !! "

ततः प्रहृष्टो धर्मात्मा लक्ष्मणः सहराघवः।
श्रुत्वा कर्णसुखं वाणीं सुग्रीववदनाच्च्युताम् ।

Hearing that most welcome news from Sugriva, both SriRama and Lakshmana were delighted

वनपालं पुनर्वाक्यं सुग्रीवः प्रत्यभाषत ।
प्रीतोस्मि सोहं यद्भुक्तं वनं तैः कृतकर्मभिः ॥
मर्षितं मर्षणीयं च एष्टितं कृतकर्मणाम्।
गच्च शीघ्रं मधुवनं संरक्षस्व त्वमेवहि ।
शीघ्रं प्रेषय सर्वां स्तान् हनूमत्प्रमुखान् कपीन् ॥

Then Sugriva replied the forest chief Dadhimukha ." The eating fruits and drinking the madhu by the Vanaras who have completed their task is agreeable to me. I am happy. Because they have completed their task their actions are acceptable. Go back to Madhuvan. You keep protecting the same. Please send Hanuman and other Vanara chiefs here immediately"

प्रीति स्फीताक्षौ संप्रहृष्टौ कुमारौ
दृष्ट्वा सिद्धर्थौ वानराणां च राजा ।
अंगैस्संहृष्टैः कर्मसिद्धिं विदित्वा
बाह्वोरासन्नां सोतिमात्रं ननंद ॥

Seeing the happiness of the princes announced by the expanded eyes expressing joy , Sugriva himself was delighted with horripilations all over his body in anticipation of impending success.
