Welcome to Kasarabada.org !

As usual the regular items of the week are the 9th chapter of Sundarakanda in Ramayanam ; and the 9th chapter of Uddhava Gita in Bhagavatam.

That Uddhava Gita is a statement propagating a philosophy is easily understood. But the references to other philosophies "not following Vedas" and other schools of thoughts Under " Bhagavan uvacha" purporting to be the statement of Bhagavan clearly makes it out like a document that evolved when there was more ferment and there was a need to restate the philosophy . The Uddhava Gita was a result of that. Or parts of such statements could also have been later interpolations. In either case they donot detract from the overall message.

The last week title - "Who are you" and the reference to the Chandala episode of Shankara attracted some attention and one of my friends brought the lecture on Manisha Panchakam by Swami Ranganathananda to our attention. Part of that is the topic for "one more thing "

Elaboration of Purna Pragnya Darsanam of Madhvacharya presented last week is the subject of this week's Athato Brahma jignyasa

The sub story of Lord Vishnu's Hamsa avatara also was apparently new to many and attracted some attention. Since this story has a resonance with Sankara's interaction with a Chandala , it was also carried under the title"Who are you ?" , the question posed by the sages to Lord Vishnu who appears in the form of a Swan.

"Uddhava's Dilemma". continues from the previous week as part of the Bhagavatam page . The roots of the dilemma can be traced through the uddhava- Krishna dialog of the earlier chapters.

The dialog of Krishna and Uddhava provides a model for the leader and the led. This was presented in the One more thing earlier .
