One more thing !

Ramudu - Sugunaabhiramudu

||Om tat sat||

Ramudu- Sugunaabhiraamudu:

Ramaseshu, my elder brother  is lovingly known as రాముడు
Ramudu translates to రామః in Sanskrit

There is a wonderful description of Rama.
By none other than Hanuman.
Hanuman tells the following lines about Rama.

రామః కమలపత్రాక్షః
సర్వ సత్వ మనోహరః॥
రూపదాక్షిణ్య సంపన్నః
ప్రసూతే జనకాత్మజే ।।

Sloka starts with the name రామః.
రామః is elaborated as,-
రమయతి ఇతి రామః.
The one who delights, the one who brings joy is Rama.
When a child brings joy - he is literally  a Rama (రామః.)

To whom does he bring joy? To all.

సర్వ సత్వ మనోహరః - the one who delights all beings
He is one who brings joy to all

Now how is that joy broad cast -
Joy is broadcast through one's eyes;
So Hanuman speaks about Rama's eyes

So how does he eyes look ?-
కమలపత్రాక్షః -
He has eyes like that of lotus leaves
Lotus represents Softness.

He also says Rama is
రూప దాక్షిణ్య సంపన్నః
Rama is endowed with a form reflecting politeness
His look reflects kindness too.

There are many more qualities,
but two more stand out
క్షమయా పృథివీ సమః
బుధ్యా బృహస్పతి సమః

క్షమయా is about patience -
the classical literary presentation of patience is earth;
Earth literally bears the brunt butish power,
the power of kings and tyrants and,
patiently waits for the tide to turn.

బుధ్యా - is about intelligence:
It is the intelligence to distinguish right from wrong
In that he is like Brihaspati the gurus of Deavas

How did he get these qualities?
Hanuman says,
ప్రసూతే జనకాత్మజే -
These qualities are his from his birth!

In fact every child born is a Rama.
Rama went through all the sorrows.
Ramudannayya / Ramaseshu too faced  the tragedies.
And he stood like a Rock .
There is word in Gita for one who does not flinch.
That is Sthita Pragnya.
That is a man of firm wisdom

That literally is Ramaseshu.

In my childhood I do not remember seeing Ramudannayya.
He left for MIT in 1950 when I was barely 6 years old.
MIT is Madras Institute of Technology, Chrompet, Madras, in India
I grew up thinking of all the faraway places he worked.
He worked as an Electronics engineer.
Eventually I also turned out to be an Electronics engineer,
I was 12 years Junior.
Being in the same Profession I would meet Ramaseshu's colleagues.

In some such meetings, some body would introduce me,
With my full name as  Chairman etc..etc.
Then add - " Sir,  - he our Ramaseshu's Brother !"
That description of being Ramaseshu's Brother,
would be the most  pleasing part.
What ever be my individual capacity,
I thoroughly enjoyed that description.
That tone and the way it was mentioned told me a lot.
A lot about Ramaseshu's standing with his professional colleagues.

Beyond the professional life,
I want to mention one other incident,
which links me to both Ramudannayya and his wife Susheela,
my respected sister in Law.

One of our nephews fell seriously sick
During his recovery I wrote / entered the text  of 68 Sargas of Sundarakanda,
with one Sarga per day
and uploaded the text to Kasarabada.org.
It meant writing about 50 slokas per day for 68 days
Ramaseshu and Susheela Vodina would diligently read
and convey the errors on a day to day basis for 68 days.
They were my support with a dedication.
They were such a  wonderful couple,
And he was the best.

He is truly,
Ramudu- Sugunaabhiraamudu.

The meaning of that first Sloka  - “Oh, Daughter of Janaka!  Rama is born with eyes like the lotus petals. He is one who delights all beings endowed with a form reflecting politeness and charm. ||Sundarakanda 35.08||
